Crispy Calamari Rings Recipe

Ingredients

  1. 1/2 lb raw calamari rings
  2. 1/2 tsp salt
  3. 1 tsp garlic powder
  4. 1 egg
  5. 1 cup frying oil
  6. 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  7. 1 cup panko breadcrumbs

Instructions

1. Pat the calamari rings dry and place them in a bowl. Sprinkle it with salt and garlic powder.

2. Coat each ring evenly in flour.

3. Dip each ring into beaten egg with a pinch of salt.

4. Dredge each ring in panko breadcrumbs, ensuring they are fully coated.

5. Heat about 1 inch of frying oil in a skillet. Carefully place the calamari rings into the oil.

Fry on medium heat for 3-4 minutes, flipping once, until the breadcrumbs turn golden yellow or light orange.

6. Remove the crispy fried calamari rings and place them on paper towels to absorb excess oil.

Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
